Not even arts-related, but here they are:)

Some scholarships are just open to anyone that feels like applying, as long as they are in, or about to be enrolled in, a degree program of some sort. Below are websites that have general scholarships and competitions. Look into them and read all of the rules/requirements before applying!

All-Ink Scholarship: essay contest. Students who apply must be a United States citizen or permanent resident with a minimum 2.5 Grade Point Average. In addition, students applying are required to complete a 50 to 200 word essay about who has had the greatest impact on your life, and a 50 to 200 word essay on what you hope to achieve in your personal and professional life after completing college.

AmeriCorps
Offers funding for your college education after you have successfully completed a term of service.

Ayn Rand Atlas Shrugged competition
Essay. Open to college students and graduating high school seniors.
Deadline mid-September

Benjamin A. Gilman International scholarship
Available to Pell-eligible students who wish to study abroad in a credit-based program.

Campus Discovery.
Online survey about your college experience, and answer a question for a chance to win $10,000.
Undergrads or recent grads.

Carpe Diem Foundation.

Center for Education Resources: A. Patrick Charnon Memorial Scholarship
Recipients must be admitted or enrolled in a full-time undergraduate program of study in an accredited four-year college or university in the United States. They must maintain good academic standing and make progress toward a degree. The Charnon Scholarship Review Committee will decide whether applicants fulfill the requirements of the award. The selection committee looks for candidates who value tolerance, compassion and respect for all people in their communities, and who have demonstrated their commitments to these values by their actions.

The College Board is a not-for-profit membership association whose mission is to connect students to college success and opportunity.

Female college juniors that are dynamic young women with leadershipexperience, academic excellence and inspiring goals.

Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation
...to find and recognize college juniors with exceptional leadership potential who are committed to careers in government, the nonprofit or advocacy sectors, education or elsewhere in the public service; and to provide them with financial support for graduate study, leadership training, and fellowship with other students who are committed to making a difference through public service.

The Roothbert Fund, Inc. is a small, nearly all-volunteer scholarship fund based in New York City. While the Fund does not emphasize any particular form of religious practice or worship, it seeks to provide support to persons motivated by spiritual values. The Fund has awarded grants to persons entering a wide range of careers. However, preference will be given to those who can satisfy high scholastic requirements and are considering careers in education.

Sallie Mae scholarships and grants
Sallie Mae is one of the larger college loan lenders that you may come into contact with. They offer their own scholarships and grants for a wide range of needs. You can sign up with the site even if you are not borrowing from them to do a scholarship search, although most are loan-related.

Sallie Mae Fund Unmet Need Scholarship:
Open to families with a combined income of $30,000 or less, this program is intended to supplement financial aid packages that fall more than $1,000 short of students' financial need. This scholarship is not designed as a substitute for aid provided by an institution.

Scholarship Experts dot com is a lot like FastWeb, but they have some interesting competitions. They like to mail my office promo materials once in a while. A lot of these competitions appear to be essay/writing-based.
