High School Students

There are a lot of Arts-related scholarships that are only for graduating High School seniors. This section is also Multi-Discipline. Some of these are not even art-related, they are just general scholarships that are available for HS students. Please read the qualifications thoroughly before applying!

American Fire Sprinkler Association Program:
We all know what happens when sprinklers aren’t present – a building catches on fire and we wait for the fire department to put it out. But what happens when fire sprinklers are present? That’s what we want you to find out and that’s what this contest is all about.

American Foreign Service Association Essay Contest.

Arrid Total Woman of Tomorrow Scholarship Contest:
The Arrid Total Women of Tomorrow Scholarship is available to female high school juniors and seniors who embody strength of character, a clear vision, pioneering spirit and community stewardship. You must be nominated to be eligible for this award.

AXA Achievement Scholarship in association with U.S News and World Report

Ayn Rand Fountainhead scholarship competition
Essay based. 11th and 12th graders.
Deadline late April

Burger King Scholars helps graduating high school seniors build brighter futures. Something mentioned about working part time. Not for BK, just in general. I think.

Coca-Cola Scholars
Offers 2- and 4-year scholarships for college

The College Bound Foundation
Offers a few options for Baltimore City students.

Gates Millennium Scholarships
There are more than one. Must be Pell Grant eligible. Please see website for further requirements.

Barbara Wiedner and Dorothy Vandercook Memorial Peace Scholarship
"Since 1993, Grandmothers for Peace International has awarded scholarships to students across the United States. Scholarships have also been awarded to three students in Africa, two students in Kyrgyzstan (formerly part of the U.S.S.R.), and students in Canada, Norway, and the Ukraine." Holocaust Remembrance Scholarship
Essay contest.

Horatio Alger Association:
"The Horatio Alger National Scholarship Program is the only major scholarship effort that specifically assists high school students who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their young lives. While many aid programs are directed primarily to recognizing academic achievement or leadership potential, the Horatio Alger program also seeks students who have a commitment to use their college degrees in service to others." National Peace Essay contest
Students in 9-12 grade who attend a public, private or parochial school or participate in a high school correspondence program in any of the 50 states, DC or the US territories.

PFLAG Scholarship
Graduating lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender high school seniors.

Prudential Spirit of Community Award
Students must be in grades 5-12 from any state and show participation in volunteer activity.

Robert C. Byrd scholarship
Offered by the feds at the state level: talk to your guidance counselor or state legislators about how to apply.

Ronald McDonald House Charities RMHC US Scholarship.
Scholarship awards are given based on a student’s demonstrated academic achievement, financial need and community involvement. Depending on strategic goals and community needs, participating local RMHC Chapters could specify additional selection criteria.

Vegetarian Resource Group Scholarship:
